Title: Harnessing Self-Assembly in Carbon Nanostructure Composite Membranes for Scaling Inhibition in Water Desalination

Abstract:

In the quest for efficient water desalination techniques, the integration of advanced materials has emerged as a promising avenue. This abstract presents a novel approach leveraging self-assembly phenomena in carbon nanostructure composite membranes for mitigating scaling during desalination processes. By harnessing the inherent properties of carbon nanomaterials and employing tailored assembly techniques, we aim to address the critical challenge of scaling inhibition, which significantly impacts desalination efficiency and membrane longevity.

Our work delves into the design and fabrication of composite membranes comprising carbon nanostructures with precisely engineered morphologies and surface chemistries. Through meticulous control over assembly parameters, including solvent choice, concentration, and templating agents, we achieve hierarchical structures that exhibit enhanced desalination performance. The synergy between carbon nanomaterials and self-assembly mechanisms enables the creation of robust membranes capable of effectively preventing scale deposition while maintaining high permeability.

Furthermore, we elucidate the underlying mechanisms governing scaling inhibition within these composite membranes, elucidating key interactions at the molecular level. By elucidating structure-property relationships, we provide insights into optimizing membrane design for superior desalination performance. Our findings not only contribute to advancing fundamental understanding but also hold immense promise for practical applications in scalable and sustainable water treatment technologies.
